Consequently, the total number of accredited programmes within the Faculty of Science has risen to five.

Following the comprehensive evaluation processes carried out, the BEUN Faculty of Science Bachelor’s Programme in Physics has been accredited for a period of five years from 22 March 2026 to 30 September 2031; the Bachelor’s Programme in Chemistry has been accredited for a period of three years from 26 March 2026 – 30 September 2029, and the Bachelor’s Programme in Molecular Biology and Genetics for a period of one year from 26 March 2026 to 30 September 2027. These accreditations stand out as a strong indicator of BEUN’s approach, which prioritises quality assurance in its teaching and learning processes, and its vision of continuous improvement. This achievement once again demonstrates the university’s commitment to providing student-centred education that meets contemporary requirements and adheres to international standards.

Rector Özölçer: “We are crowning our approach, which prioritises quality in education, with accreditations”

Commenting on the matter, BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer emphasised that the university’s academic performance is improving day by day, stating: “As Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, we are resolutely continuing our work with an approach that prioritises quality in our teaching and learning activities and places sustainable development at the forefront. The accreditation of our Physics, Chemistry, and Molecular Biology and Genetics departments within the Faculty of Science by FEDEK is a strong indicator of our university’s academic competence and educational quality. These accreditations are not merely certificates; they are also a concrete expression of the fact that the education we provide to our students meets national and international standards, is transparent, and is based on the principle of continuous improvement. These processes, which enhance the prestige of our graduates’ degrees, provide them with significant advantages in their career journeys.”

I would like to express my gratitude to the President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), Prof. Dr Erol Özvar, and the esteemed YÖK family, who have guided the development of our higher education system; and to the President of the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK), Prof. Dr Ümit Kocabıçak, and the YÖKAK family for their contributions to quality assurance efforts. I would also like to thank all academic and administrative staff at our University who have worked to establish a culture of quality within an institutional framework, our valued students who have contributed to this process, and the FEDEK officials who have conducted the evaluation processes with the utmost diligence. I firmly believe that these successes will continue to grow; we will continue our efforts with the same determination and resolve to achieve new academic milestones that will take our university even further.”
